In a secluded location near Bowness Bay, Wild Boar Estate offers en suite rooms, just 3 miles from Lake Windermere Ferry crossing. Wild Boar Estate is a former coaching inn, named after the legend of Richard de Gilpin, who bravely fought a wild boar nearby. The individually designed rooms are all en suite and have a TV. Some rooms feature copper baths or log burners. Full of character, the Grill and Smokehouse restaurant has a theatrical open kitchen, and serves locally-sourced produce. Wild Boar Estate also has a bar with real local ales, a wine cellar and an open fire. Windermere Golf Club is a short walk away. Experience a magical Christmas at Wild Boar Estate, with our 3 night package starting on the 23rd or 2 nights from the 24th December 2025. Enjoy festive feasts, seasonal celebrations and plenty of Christmas cheer. Full itinerary available.
